Peter Brown

PETER BROWN – Senior Coach

Peter has a long history with the Boronia Football Club over many years and is delighted to have accepted the role as Senior Coach. Peter’s footballing history is significant:

  • Played junior football at the Boronia Football Club;
  • Recruited to the St Kilda Football Club where he played senior VFL football;
  • Played at the Frankston Football Club in the VFA;
  • Returned to the Boronia Football Club where he won the EFL Division One Best and Fairest Award and the Club Best and Fairest Award;
  • Played at Chelsea Football Club;
  • Played in a Premiership at Knox Football Club;
  • Captain-coach of The Basin Football Club;
  • Development and Line coach at Eastern Ranges in the TAC Cup;
  • Development and Line coach at the Casey Scorpions Football Club in the VFL;
  • Two successful coaching stints at the Olinda Football Club taking them to the 2015 Preliminary Final.

Peter has an acute football brain and really enjoys working alongside young footballers. Peter has always been a fitness fanatic and a non-drinker.  Peter has always strived to not only make the players under his care better footballers, but better people as well. Peter has high standards and is looking forward to working with all people associated with the Boronia Football Club.

RICK MILLS – Development Squad (Reserves) Coach

Rick Mills is our Development Squad Coach. Rick is of course the brother of Brad Mills, the famous Gotchy.

After having completed a preseason at Collingwood, Rick Played two years at Boronia Football Club in 1986/87. Rick then had a year at Won Wron Woodside in the Alberton League, followed by 10 years at Warburton FC that included the 2000 premiership, one B&F, one runner-up B&F as well as representing the YVMDFL in four representative sides.  Rick then came back to Boronia and was a part of our 2008 Vets flag before moving north where he played his last season for Beenleigh in the SE Queensland competition.

Rounding out Rick’s contribution to football, he was an Assistant Coach at Beenleigh in 2011 and Senior Coach in 2012/13 in which they played in finals in the first year and made the grand final in 2013.  Rick was also awarded Coach of the Year before moving on to coach Coomera FC in Div 2 for 2014 before coming home.


Boronia Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Wright as the 2017 under 19s coach, following the resignation of Andrew Catley due to work commitments.

img_0224Andrew has played over 200 games of senior football at both Ferntree Gully and Forest Hill and coached at junior level for 7 years. He has an intimate knowledge of the overall football program, strong communication skills and undoubted enthusiasm for developing young men.  All this makes him the ideal candidate for this role.  Andrew will commence contacting the 19s playing list in the immediate future.
